The Toronto Usui Reiki
Centre is a place for creative living and healing. The
centre was established in 1992 and is run entirely by
volunteers and funded by donations.
The Toronto Usui Reiki
Centre is committed to honouring the original teachings
of Reiki and to upholding its integrity.
This commitment is
reflected in their association with Australian Reiki
Masters Denise and John Crundall.
Denise practiced Reiki
for over seventeen years, and over twelve as a Reiki
Master. Together Denise & John taught full time in
all states of Australia, California, Germany & in
Toronto. Denise & John gained much respect throughout
the world for their dedication & commitment to
spiritual healing. Their work in the aids community &
with those facing life-threatening illnesses, has
inspired dignity & compassion in all those they have
touched. Denise & Johns wisdom & insight have
helped many to find the self-respect & love to heal
themselves & discover their own spirituality. Denise
passed away on June 30, 2002, leaving John to carry the
Light of Reiki forward. He does so in Her Name and
Lineage.
THE USUI REIKI STORY
In the late 1800’s,
scholar Dr. Mikao Usui spent many years researching the
great healing traditions. He rediscovered Reiki - healing
energy through the hands.
Reiki is Universal Life
Energy. As taught by Dr. Usui, it has a simple set of
procedures to follow which were passed down to each of
the Reiki Masters who followed his teachings together
with a basic set of Reiki principles.
Reiki is experienced
through the hands as a subtle yet powerful flow of
healing energy.
Reiki is a hands-on
experience which is spiritual in nature and therefore
cannot be directed or manipulated in any way. Reiki
by-passes the symptom and goes to the cause of the
problem to create a space for healing.
Reiki reminds the body
of its natural ability to heal on all levels: physical,
emotional, mental and spiritual.
